Welcome

Ever since my father decided we had to write our own computer games instead of playing all day, I have been interested in programming. As I was fascinated by fundamental physics, I decided to study engineering physics since it combines the more applied with the more theoretical.

When I finished my degree, I decided to pursue the fundamental physics track further. I took on the challenge of an international experience and enrolled in the Physics Ph.D. program to work with one of the experts on string theory at Rutgers University in the US.

The first few years of the Ph.D. program, I studied the rich mathematical structures underlying string theory and I became (and still am) very intrigued with the intricate web of dualities relating different manifestations of the same -- unknown -- theory.

As the focus of the field shifted towards the experiment about to start at CERN in Geneva, I worked on a computer program that helps reveal how certain theoretical constructions might manifest themselves in experiments.

Currently, I have a strong interest in modelling complex systems, combining the more theoretical aspects of math with the more applied aspects of programming.

Computer Modelling Projects

  • fBot Project -- a C++ project consisting of a webbot which collects financial data from the internet on a daily basis, a program that processes this information and a back-end that publishes the resulting graphs on a webpage.

  • Vscape Project -- a C++ project capable of modelling the potential functions of a certain class of field theories.
